Frequently asked questions
Is a Mangalayatan online/distance degree valid for government jobs?
Yes. Mangalayatan is UGC-DEB entitled, and as per the UGC 2023 circular, its online and distance degrees are equivalent to regular degrees — valid for government jobs, UPSC, banking and higher education.
What is a DEB-ID and do I need one?
DEB-ID is a mandatory UGC registration for every online/distance learner. It takes about 10 minutes on the UGC-DEB portal, and we help you create it free of charge.
Are MBA specialisations available in both modes?
MBA is available in both. Online offers HR, Marketing, Operations and Finance at Rs.30,000/year; Distance offers HR/Marketing/Finance/Ops at Rs.28,000/year, plus a Tourism & Hospitality MBA at Rs.36,000/year.
What is the difference in fees between online and distance mode? Online
Online programmes are priced slightly higher than distance (ODL) for the same course — for example, Online BA is Rs.10,000/year while Distance BA is Rs.8,000/year. Online mode offers live/recorded classes and a fully digital experience.
Does distance (ODL) mode require attending the campus? Distance
No regular campus attendance is required. ODL is self-paced with study material and periodic exams; some programmes may have exams at designated centres.
