VGU offers UGC-entitled online and distance learning degrees designed for working professionals and students who need flexibility. Frequently asked questions
Is a VGU online or distance degree valid for government jobs?
Yes. VGU is UGC recognised and NAAC A+ accredited. As per the UGC 2023 circular, online and distance degrees from entitled universities are equivalent to regular degrees - valid for government jobs, UPSC, banking and higher education.
What is a DEB-ID and do I need one?
DEB-ID is a mandatory UGC registration for every online and distance learner. It takes about 10 minutes on the UGC-DEB portal, and we help you create it free of charge.
What are the extra fees besides the course fee?

Which specialisations does the online MBA offer? Online
The online MBA is available in General, HR, IT, Marketing, Finance, Agri Business, International Business, Health Care and Operations at Rs.75,000 per year. A specialised MBA in International Finance is also offered at Rs.1,20,000 per year.
How is the online mode delivered? Online
Online mode includes live and recorded classes, e-books, digital self-learning material and a personalised student dashboard, so you can study around your job.
Is distance (ODL) cheaper than online mode at VGU? Distance
Yes. For example the distance MBA is Rs.27,000 per year against Rs.75,000 per year for online MBA. Distance mode is self-paced with study material and semester exams, while online mode adds live classes and a fully digital learning experience.
Which programmes are available in distance mode? Distance
Distance (ODL) mode offers MBA (with electives), MCA, BBA, BCA, M.Sc Mathematics and PGDCA.
